Unfortunately, this home was experiencing severe moisture issues. Many homes with an EEFS exterior ( Dry-Vit) experience moisture penetration around openings as well as wicking moisture from roof lines or being too close to the ground. Our customer had the house probed with moisture detection gauges and there were many areas with very high moisture content.
Because of the nature of this siding material as well as the extensive moisture damage, there are very few companies in the entire country with the knowledge and skills necessary to properly complete this project. The only solution was to completely remove the exterior and all trim, repair all the damaged wall cavities, and structural framing, then install a new substrate with moisture proof exterior ( Zip system).
Once this was done, the structure of the home was then protected and completely moisture proof.
Our new exterior is a mix of James Hardie color plus plank ( Booth Bay blue) and James Hardie staggered shake ( Booth Bay blue ) and all of the eaves, window trim, door trim, crown mold, etc is James Hardie color plus trim products in Navajo beige.
For accent and more mix of products, native natural stone was added to the foundation and columns.
