Project Details

This beautiful home in Scott was only 4 years old and the owners had always regretted letting the builder talk them into vinyl siding and trim. Then along came a strong wind storm and blew a lot of the vinyl siding off and the owners decided it was time to get this plastic off of their home. Many of there coworkers recommended Sideco to them and we worked with them on the style, design and colors. One of the main attractions for the home was the expanded ceilings and columns and Sideco had the solution for that as well.

Jimmy's team at Sideco did an outstanding, quality job. They cleaned up everyday and did a very good job of cleaning the site when they left. They removed 5 yr old vinyl siding that was put on by my builder and installed the Hardie Board. There was some rotten wood however it could not be replaced because of additional major cost. Sideco had to build out around the bad boards to create support large enough for the columns to be totally flush. This was extra cost that was not in the original proposal. Using Hardie Board IS expensive but I believe it will be well worth the money. I wish that I had used it from the very beginning.

Areas Of Satisfaction

The workmanship and I am so very happy with the look of my house now.

Recognized Excellence

Anthony was the foreman and he was great. The girl that was doing the touch up paint work did an outstanding job too. I didn't have interaction with any of the others.

Areas For Improvement

Mainly sticker shock. Minor stuff: They tried to be as careful as they could but they did break a few of my solar lights. My garage door had to be painted so they took it off of the tracks and couldn't get it to go all the way back down. My husband called a garage door company and they walked him through how to fix it. There was 9 or 10 vehicles (they bring in a large crew) so parking was an issue and my neighbor got on to them for getting on the edge of his grass. After dealing with builders, this was a piece of cake.
